real me
i’m a mexican-american photographer based in los angeles, though my journey with photography began at age 13 in my hometown of milwaukee, wi. back then, life was blissfully analog, and i learned my craft in the darkroom, developing and printing photos shot on my old canon FT 35mm. over three decades later, the skills i began honing on that camera have taken me across the globe. i’ve had the privilege of working alongside some of the world’s top photographers and brands as a photographer, photo assistant, and lighting designer.
travel has been one of my greatest teachers. each new destination sharpens my eye for finding beauty in the unexpected—whether exploring on the ground or from the sky, thanks to my FAA part 107 commercial drone pilot’s license.
i come from a hardworking family: my mother was a nurse, my father spent 30 years working in a factory, and my wife’s family are farmers. their grit and determination shaped me, and i’ve always been happiest celebrating and telling the stories of people like them. in today’s digital age, i find immense joy in experiencing and documenting the beauty of the handmade and all the work that goes into it.
for me, photography is storytelling. it’s about connection and empathy—stepping into someone else’s world to truly see and understand them. a love of learning and boundless curiosity fuel my work. i believe each photographer leaves a unique imprint on their images; mine is rooted in the connections i forge with my subjects. my goal is to create a judgment-free space where people feel safe to explore, express, and just be themselves—perfectly imperfect, fully human.
i know how vulnerable it can feel to be in front of a lens. after earning my theater degree from carnegie mellon university, my years working in front of cameras and live audiences as a professional actor taught me to always strive to create a compassionate space for my collaborators: in my hands, the camera is never a judge; it’s simply a witness.
i thrive on true collaboration to tell stories that are authentic and meaningful, capturing rare, honest moments that feel timeless. to me, photography is the alchemy of art and science, transforming the ordinary into something golden. sharing that gift with the world is not only a privilege—it’s pure magic, and i’m deeply grateful for every day i get to do it.
oh. also—music is very important to me. you’ll see when we create together—i’ll always have a dope playlist for you...

my dtla studio
i love my studio. and i know you will too. conveniently located in the quickly growing fashion/flower district of downtown los angeles, the space is versatile enough for all kinds of shoots. a 14' x 9' wall of north-facing windows and an overhead skylight fill the space with natural light all day, with enough room to set up an intimate portrait studio lighting setup as well. the highlight is the rooftop garden, offering stunning views of the LA skyline to the west and snow-capped mountains to the east—a haven for creatives. i can’t wait to share it with you.
